Football shirts are big business here, whether that’s regular replicas, vintage shirts or limited edition items but let’s start with the basics.

If it is an English club you are after, you’ll be able to get the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal at any Adidas store, while Puma stores stock Manchester City and Nike has both Spurs and Chelsea among its array.

The big brands’ biggest teams are readily available across the city and on their official websites – PSG and Barcelona at Nike, Bayern Munich and Juventus at Adidas.

However, more niche numbers take a little more work to find.

SFALO (hk.sfalo.com/en) is maybe the biggest name in the game and the type of place that you can spend a couple of hours flicking through the shirts.

It has three stores (Portland Street in Mong Kok, Emperor Group Centre in Wan Chai and its Kwun Tong flagship in The Grande) and you know you are in the right place because the shirts are all enshrined in plastic.

Their range extends to the English Premier League, a wide array of J.League clubs, Spain’s La Liga, the German Bundesliga and national teams.

Printing is also available on the shirts that are not already named and numbered plus there are special offers on their Facebook page.

Ball 3 Shop (Instagram: ball3shophk, 6722 3811) on Nathan Road in Mong Kok is smaller than SFALO, but as thorough in its quest for cult kits. They have plenty of vintage jerseys from clubs and national teams.

Football Kingdom, also in Mong Kok in the Hing Fat Commercial Building on Yan Chong Street, has a selection of World Cup, J.League and European shirts.

Also in Mong Kok, on the 14th floor of the President Commercial Centre on Nathan Road is NTS Sports (2789 3608), another store with a vast selection of strips from across the globe.

Prokicker (prockicker.com.hk, 9337 5283, instagram: prokicker) has a handful of shirts online and plenty more with official name sets on their Instagram account. You can find their store in the Sino Centre on Nathan Road.

Freekick Sport in Mong Kok’s Ginza Plaza (2171 4228) offers World Cup shirts with printing and has Australia’s home and away jerseys, plus the US if you don’t mind that they didn’t make it to Russia and want to represent anyway.

Another Mong Kok shop is Kitroom Sports (kitroomsports.com) on the seventh floor of the East Building on Argyle Street. That’s also one of the few places in the city where you can buy Hong Kong Premier League jerseys.

World Soccer (wosohk.com) is another store with a comprehensive array of Hong Kong league jerseys from over the years. It is in the same building as Ball 3 Shop on Nathan Road in Mong Kok.

No7 Soccer Co (2697 9777, no7soccer.com) is in Mong Kok City Centre on Sai Yeung Choi Street South. That’s the same road as 352 Soccer Square, which you can find on the second floor at No 42.

While their websites often leave a lot to be desired most of these shops have a Facebook page or Instagram account with photos of stock. They can keep unusual hours so check online or by phone.

If you can not find what you are looking for then the likes of UK-based Classic Football Shirts (classicfootballshirts.co.uk) ship to Hong Kong, with the city among its largest markets for vintage jerseys.
