After a bumpy start where he admits he almost gave up acting to become a firefighter, the 37-year-old finally got his first lead role in 2015 romcom The Longest Ride, and has since gone on to star in numerous blockbusters – from Suicide Squad and Fast and Furious 8 to Pacific Rim: Uprising. He has also appeared in two films with his famous dad, Invictus and Gran Torino.

Scott Eastwood has seven siblings
Scott Eastwood is the son of veteran actor-director Clint Eastwood and flight attendant Jacelyn Reeves. The two had an affair while Eastwood was still with another woman, Sondra Locke. Reeves and Eastwood nevertheless had two children together – Scott in 1986, and his younger sister Kathryn in 1988, per People magazine. However, by 1990 the pair had gone their separate ways. In total, Eastwood has fathered eight children with six different women.
As a result, Scott and his sister grew up in Hawaii with Reeves and, according to Esquire, didn’t spend any real time with his dad until he moved to California to live with him during high school.
He isn’t your typical nepo baby
Although he wanted to be an actor, Scott Eastwood has talked about how he hadn’t wanted to make it in the industry simply because of who his father was, and so didn’t use the Eastwood name until 2008 when he’d already got a few projects under his belt.
“I was pretty headstrong, and I just wanted to make sure I could go out there and do it for myself,” he told Nylon in 2015. Then eventually he changed his mind: “I just thought, ‘Oh, this is silly. If I’m doing this, I’ve got to carry on the Eastwood name.’”
He’s also talked about how he didn’t get any handouts from his father. “I parked cars, did construction – anything on the side to make extra money,” he told the magazine.

His dad inspired him to get into directing
Clint and Scott have done several interviews together and often joke about Clint’s tough love approach to his son’s work, with Scott regularly describing his father as an “old-school” disciplinarian.
“I don’t think he likes me in his movies,” the younger Eastwood once told Conan O’Brien. “He’s put me in a few movies. I’ve auditioned for a lot [of them], and haven’t got a lot”, adding that he thinks his dad only allowed him to be in Gran Torino because the role included several scenes where Clint would give him a hard time.
Scott nevertheless describes his father as “one of his biggest heroes”, telling the Chicks in the Office podcast: “He’s the reason I’m here because I was so inspired by him and so inspired by his films.” He also told Esquire that he’s learned that the smart move is to follow his dad into directing. “That’s where the power lies,” he told the magazine. “And, like [my dad] says, it’s feast or famine for an actor. If you’re not creating your own material, then you’re just fighting for whatever’s out there.”
He lost a former girlfriend in a tragic accident
Though Scott has not been linked to anyone recently, he has previously dated wellness guru Maddie Serviente, Playboy model Brittany Brousseau and actress Nina Dobrev, per People.
However, back in 2014, the actor was dating model Jewel Brangman when she crashed her car into the back of a van. Due to a defective airbag, she was killed instantly.
“I’ve lost friends before … but I had never lost someone I had been really intimate with,” he told Australian GQ in 2016. “I think that really affected me in a way that … I don’t know. Maybe it’s made it harder for me to date,” he added.

He’s been involved in some high-profile Hollywood bust-ups
Eastwood has found himself at the centre of more than one controversy over the years. In 2015, the actor let slip that Ashton Kutcher had cheated on Demi Moore with his then-girlfriend in an incident that was reportedly the nail in the coffin for Kutcher and Moore’s marriage, per the LA Times.Then, when he was on the set of war film Fury with Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf, he spat on a tank that the three were riding in as the cameras rolled. Despite it being in the script, LaBeouf and Pitt hadn’t realised and took offence to the move, with the former physically laying in to Eastwood.
“[LaBeouf] got mad at me and it turned into a volatile moment that Brad Pitt ultimately got in the middle of,” Eastwood said later, per Insider.
His big passions are dogs and surfing
Like other members of his family, Eastwood is a dog lover. “As a family, we had dogs as early as I can remember,” he told People magazine. According to the Huffington Post, he also supports his older sister Alison’s animal welfare organisation.
The actor is also a keen surfer, telling Maxim that growing up in California it had almost been inevitable: “I’ve travelled all over the world chasing surf.”
